MY EXPERIENCE:

I’ve been waiting to dive into this one. Took me more than two weeks to finish, so it killed my lead, but it was absolutely worth it.

If book one was Kaladin’s, then this one was Shallan’s. But Kaladin still had some of the most incredible sequences. Four shard barers against Adolin and Kaladin? Crazy. Kaladin challenging Amaram? CRAZIER! Kaladin vs Szeth-Son-Son-Vallano?! EPIC AS ALL HELL!

The revelations in this one were so interesting. Spren tying to shardblades and the difference between those and honor blades. Excellent world-building and magical stuff. I love that stuff. I read books for that stuff.

The big climactic final sequence on the shattered plains with the Parshendi transforming into void bringers and singing to create the Everstorm?! WOW! What’s next? Where do we go from here?
