Well, I’ll tell ya, Subscriber First Name. I’m talking about the member's community I’m building on my website for you, fine folks. What’s that? Well, it’s kind of like what some content creators do with Patreon, where they have early access to some content and other exclusives, and folks pay a monthly fee for it. Except in this case, the main tier would be 100% Free. You’d sign up with an email, make up a password, and BOOM! You’re a member!

What do you get for signing up?

To be honest, I’m still working that out. And that’s what I’d like to talk to you about. You see, I already know what I’m going to include as perks/swag/content on the paid tier. But I’m not launching with a paid tier. And it’ll be a long while before I do launch the paid tier. For now, I’m much more concerned with creating a space where people can gather to read my stories and talk about them. I’m already facing the challenges of bringing people to the website in the first place. But getting them to sign up and keep coming back will be my Everest.

So I’d like to let you in a little bit; a peek behind the curtain. I’d like to show you what I’m thinking so far and ask you some questions. Click the button below to respond.

My pitch is as follows: Early Access to videos WEEKS before they premiere on YouTube, Exclusive Videos that will NEVER go to YouTube, short stories to read, a writing blog to read, and a thread-based community to talk about it all in. There’ll be exclusive live-stream events, prize giveaways, contests, and more. And the element I’m most excited about is something I’ll just call THE WORLD BOOK for now and leave it at that.

It’s a good one.

But here’s the thing… this is all pretty standard stuff. There’s not a whole hellova lot an author can offer their readers. I’m missing something, though. There’s an “it factor” missing. I don’t know what it is, but it isn’t here yet. So therein lies my question to you lot. Whether you’re a reader, an author or both—whether you subscribe to any Patreons or not—if you were presented with an offer from your FAVORITE author to join their “Patreon”, what is the one thing they could name in their list of perks or swag that would make you slap your desk and shout, “WELL! THAT DOES IT! I’M SIGNING UP! SIGNING UP GETS YOU THAT? THAT? IT GETS YOU THAT?! I’M SIGNING UP RIGHT NOW!

The thing that, as a reader or fan of the author, if offered, would be impossible to turn down or resist? Whatever it is, LEAVE IT IN THE COMMENTS!
