7. CATCHING FIRE
BY SUZANNE COLLINS
MY EXPERIENCE
THE FIRE RISES!
This experience was more unfamiliar, as I didn’t remember the film much. However, I found it too similar to the first book. The idea of the Quarter Quell is interesting, but ultimately, I just felt like I was rereading The Hunger Games. The entire time, I thought, “Can we skip the games and go straight to the rebellion that I know is coming?”
Don’t get me wrong. The book was very well written, the characters have progressed from where they were in book one, the world around them is also changing. It was a GOOD middle book. But just not a GREAT one. I have a feeling now that we’re getting to the good stuff, Book three will likely come out as my favorite. For now the first book is still flying high on wings of mockingjays! Or something else poetic. Give me a break, I’m writing this at 5:30 am.
Ultimately, I liked it, but I mostly just got through this one to get to the third book. I’ll give it three out of five naked girls in an elevator. IYKYK.
