I’ve gotten a lot of the early development done on my plans for THE FACE OF GAIA. I’ve compiled lots of notes, gotten some great new ideas down, and am finally getting a good look at what kind of story I’m going to tell. It’s a little surreal to be at the beginning of another epic novel. It’s incredibly exciting, considering the possibilities ahead and the knowledge that I’ve pulled off this seemingly impossible feat before.
And this time, I’ve learned a thing or two and am ready to write an even better book! THE FACE OF GAIA promises high-fantasy adventure, science-fiction thrills, and plenty of fun monsters to hide from.
The outline is next. I’m so ready!

Last but not least, I’m happy to say I’ve been doing my best to refill my creative well in preparation for writing chapters of THE FACE OF GAIA in January. My wife and I are watching THE BOYS together. I’ve seen it, but it’s been a while, and it’s new to her. It’s definitely helping me write villains, drama, and exciting action sequences.
We’re also watching MONK. It doesn’t necessarily help much other than with writing humor or quirky characters. You’d think it’d help with writing mysteries, but it’s still early in the show, and I’m guessing all the answers by the second act, so I’ll have to wait and see if the mysteries become more complex.
On my own, whenever possible, I also squeeze in episodes of THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE because it’s such a crazy concept, it’s helping me with thinking outside the box, so-to-speak. Ultimately I’m only watching a couple of episodes of anything per week as I’m working my ass off at work as well as on this outline for the next novel.
And to fill in some of that SCI-FI goodness, I’ve been reading THE MCMURDO TRIANGLE by Bradley Lejeune and am enjoying it massively! Highly recommend!
